This is Wrong, but I Know You are Good

“Sadness does not equal unbelief. There are things that can & should break our hearts & make us sad. It’s called lament &, throughout the pages of scripture, there seems to be an awful lot of it. When I see glimpses of God’s goodness amidst the sadness, I can stare directly into the sadness & yet worship. Lament is a kind of worship that says, ‘This is wrong, but I know You are good.’” (~Nancy Franson)

Sweet friends, they found a mass in my colon, and it is cancer.

Our cries of lament continue.

We are looking for glimpses of His goodness.

We bow our heads and long to worship.

We covet your prayers.

(We know very little detail right now. I have a CT, X-ray and appt. with the surgeon next Friday. We’ll keep you posted as we know more.)

  9. Angie, we are so sorry to hear this news. Rochelle wrote a while back that burdens are made lighter when carried by many. Please know we bear this burden with you but even more our Lord Jesus does. We pray before the Throne of Grace Eph. 3:20 on your behalf and your precious family. You are loved. Ginny

  19. Dearest, my hand is over my mouth, I am bowing before the One who loves you best and is the greatest Good, but I weep, too. We want His love to be more real to you than anything else. We want so much, but right now, we weep with you. Yet will we trust Him…Colossians 2:5, dearest Angie.

Oh, Angie! Again? I am so very sorry you and your family have to go through this! It must be so so hard to have to wait to find out what’s next. No words come to me that can compare to what you are going through except that I know the Lord loves through nail scarred hands. May they hold you tightly. Praying for you all. I love you and miss you much! Jen

  37. My precious Angie,

I hope that this beautiful message from Spurgeon gives you confidence and strength to lay your whole self over on Him.

Mighty prayer has often been produced by mighty trial. Charles Spurgeon

He is ever interceding for us before the Father. The Spirit is praying with groanings and utterances far deeper then words can go. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us and gave Himself for us.

I thank God that we have this treasure in earthen vessels to sing forth the praises of God, and that we have the very life of Christ in us. I am praying for you.

    Grace to you,
    Judie
