That Smile

That smile. That smile.
It’s going fast.
Do you think
That smile will last
?

Ash has his first loose tooth, and I had to pick my heart up off the floor and put it back into my chest when we discovered it. He is growing up much too quickly for my taste. Stop it, son! Just stop it!

On a different note, anybody know what the going rate for the tooth fairy is these days?

Ah such a sweet smile, but trust me when I tell you that the toothless grin is just as sweet! Dan has lost 3 bottom teeth & is now working on one of the top front teeth. It is hanging by a thread & ready to fall out any day now!

  2. At the Butler home (10 years ago!!!) the tooth fairy left $1.00. But if the Butler children were at their grandparents’ home the tooth fairy left $5.00!! We never could figure out how the tooth fairy knew where the kids were when their teeth fell out. 🙂

If you ask Ben, he’ll tell you that the tooth fairy forgets to “pay up” at his house!

  4. well…….I don´t know about the going rate, but I will tell you that I was left a dime when I lost my first tooth and cried because I wanted a nickel (it was bigger), so do I need to tell my age????

  5. You tell sweet Asher that his Aunt Bethy can’t wait to see that new beautiful smile soon!:) I have to confess when I read about his lost tooth, I didn’t know if I should smile or cry. Love and miss each of you soooo much!

  6. With the falling dollar, I hear the tooth fairy is switching to precious metals. 😉

  7. I was told that the tootfairy brings a penny according to the year that you lose it (e.g. 1988 merits $0.88 ). While most of the world was unaffected by Y2K, this seems to have crashed the tooth market industry.

  8. Considering I’m now *ahem* 26 years old, this might make a difference, but I only ever remember getting a quarter each time I lost a tooth. I say give him what he needs to buy Battleship! 🙂

  9. I too only got a quarter … and I always got a pack of carefree sugarless bubble gum … boy was I crushed when I found out other kids got a dollar! Don’t let the tooth fairy jip you Asher!
